Accessibility 

The trail is suitable for pushchairs in dry weather. Pushchairs will need to access the trail via the gate entrance off Heworth Green (A1036 Road): Foss Fairy Trail - Google Maps

Currently the trail is not accessible to wheelchairs or mobility scooters. The walkway by the river is on uneven ground and some sections are narrow and close to the river.

Scooters and cycles and are not permitted to be ridden down the river pathway as this may endanger pedestrians.

Family Trip

On Foot

The location of the trail can be found on google maps ‘Foss Fairy Trail’. The entrance gateway can be found on the A1036 on the right just before the bridge over the river Foss and roundabout that has exits to Foss Islands Road, Monkgate and Huntington Road. Alternatively the trail can start from under the cycle track bridge that leads over Huntington Road. This can be accessed from the cycle track or from Arran Place and across the grassed park area.

By bike or car

The location of the trail can be found on google maps ‘Foss Fairy Trail’. Alternatively the trail can start from under the cycle track bridge that leads over Huntington Road. This can be accessed from the cycle track or from Arran Place and across the grassed park area.

Cycles can be secured to lamp posts at the entrance to the trail, or at Sainsbury's cycle racks, a five minute walk away. 

Car parking is available just opposite on Huntington road for £1 per hour and other parking is available at Sainsbury's.
